New HOTELS in IBIZA

The Standard Ibiza

(Carrer de Bartomeu Vicent Ramon, 9, Ibiza)

In case you still did not know, The Standard chain chose the beautiful island last summer to open its first hotel in Spain: The Standard Ibiza, which opened its doors last April in the city’s old quarter, opposite Plaza de Vara del Rey.

The design, inspired by the 1960s, pays homage to the chain’s first hotel, The Standard Hollywood, and was designed by Lázaro Rosa-Violán, in collaboration with Oskar Kohnen.

The street-side restaurant, Jara, offers a menu based on local produce, with dishes such as Tartar Jara (roasted tomatoes with mustard and caper vinaigrette, radish and toasted bread) or charcoal-grilled sea bass with garlic sofrito.

The hotel has 53 rooms and suites and the splendid Casa Privada, separate from the main building: a retreat with panoramic views of Dalt Vila, private rooftop pool and bar, fourteen rooms spread over five floors, and gym.

SIX SENSES: The beach caves

(Carrer Camí de sa Torre, 71; San Juan Bautista)

Two years ago, Six Senses Ibiza opened its doors in the crystal-clear Cala Xarraca, in the north of the island. The concept is explained by the architect and developer of the project, Jonathan Leitersdorf: «to capture the authentic experience of community, spirituality and celebration of Ibiza».

Last season, the hotel debuted The Beach Caves, a new space that offers «a unique, eclectic, sophisticated and fun vision around gastronomy, music and wellness». Ben Pundole, a pioneer in the art of hospitality, took the reins as creative director of The Beach Caves with the aim of reflecting «the island’s heritage, enthusiasm and eclectic spirit,».

The Beach Caves houses a restaurant and bar where local produce is fused with Latin American flavors, a private lounge, a speakeasy-style cocktail bar, a party room, a recording studio, six stunning Beach Caves Suites with direct access and ocean views.

W IBIZA

Located on the beachfront in the town of Santa Eulalia, W Ibiza returns this season stronger than ever and with a multitude of surprises.

The most acclaimed novelty is undoubtedly its new night club, BELOW, which will feature popular international artists – such as The Martinez Brothers, who kicked off the musical program – to make us enjoy their live sessions.

In addition, W Ibiza’s programming will also include film screenings, pool parties, pop up chefs, morning meditations and detox brunches. Another of the hotel’s hot spots -in addition to its restaurant, La Llama- will be its already well-known rooftop, Glow, with an infinity pool overlooking the sea, morning yoga classes and delicious signature cocktails at nightfall.
